Imperial Beach, CA - Normally, when you hear about a surfing events, it conjures up thoughts of competitors with names like Kelly Slater, Andy Irons and Layne Beachley. However, a surfing event was held on Saturday, August 18th  where the competitors have names more like Spot, Lucky and, yes, Bandit The Biker Dog!  Lowes Coronado Bay Resort sponsored the 2007 Surf Dog Small Wave Competition. Bandit was originally asked to be a celebrity judge of the event. However, once he went down to the water's edge to watch dogs practicing, he knew immediately he'd rather be "Hangin' Ten."

All proceeds will benefit Loews Coronado Bay Resort’s Good Neighbor Council, a group of employees who volunteer their time to help raise money for various non-profit organizations, including Modest Needs and PAWS of Coronado. For photos and video coverage, go the the web site for the event (which also has pictures and video links to last year's competition), at http://loewssurfdog.blogspot.com/                             See Photo Slideshow >>
